If a dive site's best features lie deeper than your current certification allows, the Deep Diver Specialty is what gets you there safely, down to 40 meters. Who is this course for? Divers holding PADI Adventure Diver or higher, at least 15 years old, who want to extend their depth range and dive with confidence at sites like the Thistlegorm's lower decks or the Red Sea's deeper walls. What you'll learn Over four dives with your instructor, you'll build the judgment and skills that deep diving demands: Specialized equipment for deeper dives Dive planning, buddy contact procedures, and buoyancy control at depth Managing gas supply and recognizing the early signs of nitrogen narcosis Reading your own limits and making conservative decisions underwater Your first dive in this course can often count as an Adventure Dive toward Advanced Open Water Diver certification — worth asking your instructor about if you haven't completed that yet. What is nitrogen narcosis, and will I learn to manage it? Yes — recognizing and managing narcosis is a core part of this course, taught through real deep dives with your instructor rather than just theory. Is the price per dive or for the whole course?
