Your scuba certification. The Red Sea. The right place to start. The Open Water Diver course is where every diver's story begins. At Red Sea Marine, you learn in one of the best diving environments on the planet — warm, clear water, healthy reefs, and visibility that regularly exceeds 20 metres. By the end of the course, you'll be a certified diver, qualified to dive anywhere in the world to 18 metres. What the Course Covers The PADI Open Water Diver course runs across three phases, and you'll complete all of them here in Sharm El Sheikh: Knowledge development Theory sessions covering how scuba equipment works, dive planning, buoyancy, and safety procedures. You can start this part online before you arrive through PADI eLearning — many students complete it on the flight over. Confined water dives Five skill sessions in calm, shallow water where you'll practice the core techniques: mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, and emergency procedures. These take place in a pool or sheltered bay, so you can focus on the skills without distraction. Open water dives Four dives on real Red Sea reefs. This is where everything comes together. You'll explore coral gardens, spot reef fish, and build the confidence that turns a newly certified diver into one who actually goes diving. Who Is This Course For? Anyone 10 years or older who can swim comfortably and is in reasonable health. No prior diving experience is needed — that's the point of the course. It's a particularly good choice if you're in Sharm for a week or more. Many of our students arrive having never dived before and leave with a certification they'll use for the rest of their lives. If you're short on time, ask us about the PADI Scuba Diver course — a shorter alternative that certifies you to dive with a professional to 12 metres.
