Service Description

The ocean is more than a beautiful place to dive. It is a living, interconnected ecosystem where every coral, fish, invertebrate, and marine creature plays a role. The SSI Marine Ecology Specialty at Red Sea Marine Diving Center in Sharm El Sheikh gives you a deeper understanding of the underwater world you explore. Instead of simply identifying what you see, you’ll learn how marine ecosystems work, how different organisms interact, and why healthy reefs are so important. What You’ll Learn During the SSI Marine Ecology program, you’ll explore topics such as: • How marine ecosystems are structured and how they function • The relationships between different marine organisms • Coral reefs and why they are essential to marine life • Fish, invertebrates, algae, and other reef organisms • Food chains, habitats, and ecological relationships • How environmental conditions affect marine life • The importance of biodiversity • Human impacts on marine ecosystems • Threats facing coral reefs and other marine environments • How divers can help protect the underwater world Discover the Red Sea Through New Eyes The Red Sea is home to an incredible variety of marine life and some of the world's most fascinating coral reef ecosystems. From colorful reef fish and delicate corals to turtles, rays, groupers, and countless smaller creatures, every dive offers an opportunity to observe nature at work. At Red Sea Marine, we encourage our divers to slow down, look closely, and appreciate the details that are easy to miss. With the guidance of an experienced instructor, you’ll begin to understand why certain species live together, how reef communities interact, and how small changes in the environment can affect an entire ecosystem. Learn the connections. Discover the ecosystem. See the Red Sea differently. Course Requirements The SSI Marine Ecology Specialty is designed for divers who want to expand their knowledge of marine ecosystems and the underwater environment. Course content and certification requirements are subject to current SSI standards.
