Unravel the Physics and Physiology of the Deep!

250 euros

Service Description

Science of Diving is where your diving knowledge goes deeper. This SSI specialty gives you a stronger understanding of what is happening beneath the surface — and how diving affects the human body, your equipment, and the way you plan and conduct dives. You will study the principles behind scuba diving, including diving physics, physiology, equipment, decompression, gas management, and the effects of pressure and depth. Rather than simply learning what to do, you will gain a better understanding of why we do it. The course is particularly valuable for divers who want to develop their knowledge before moving into professional training. It forms an important part of the SSI professional pathway and is required for most SSI Professional programs, including the route toward SSI Dive Guide and Divemaster training. With Red Sea Marine Diving Center in Sharm El Sheikh, you can complete your academic training with experienced diving professionals who can relate the theory to real diving situations. Understanding the science behind buoyancy, pressure, gas consumption, equipment, and human physiology can make you a more informed and responsible diver. The SSI Science of Diving program can be completed through digital learning, allowing you to study at your own pace before continuing your professional development with your SSI Training Center. SSI currently lists five academic sessions, approximately 8–12 hours of suggested study, and Open Water Diver certification as a prerequisite (or completion in combination with Open Water Diver). Whether you are preparing for professional-level training or simply want to understand diving on a deeper level, Science of Diving gives you the knowledge to make better decisions both above and below the surface.
