Service Description

Wrecks are more than places to dive—they are pieces of history beneath the surface. The SSI Wreck Diving specialty introduces you to the skills and techniques needed to explore wrecks responsibly while discovering the stories hidden underwater. At Red Sea Marine Diving Center in Sharm El Sheikh, you'll learn how to approach a wreck, plan your dive, manage your equipment, and maintain good awareness around the structure. Your SSI instructor will also explain the hazards that can make wreck diving different from a normal reef dive, including entanglement risks, sharp surfaces, changing visibility, and the importance of staying within appropriate limits. You'll develop techniques for navigating around a wreck, using lines and reference points where appropriate, and maintaining a clear understanding of your position throughout the dive. The course also introduces the principles of wreck penetration and the strict limitations that apply when entering enclosed areas. The Red Sea is home to some remarkable wreck-diving experiences, and Sharm El Sheikh provides an excellent base for divers who want to expand their experience beyond coral reefs. From exploring the legendary SS Thistlegorm to discovering other wrecks in the wider Red Sea, you'll have the opportunity to combine diving skills with history and exploration. At Red Sea Marine, we want you to understand the difference between simply swimming around a wreck and actually knowing how to dive one properly. Your instructor will help you develop good habits, maintain control, and make sensible decisions based on the wreck, conditions, and your experience. Whether you're fascinated by maritime history, underwater photography, marine life that has made a wreck its home, or simply want a new diving challenge, the SSI Wreck Diving specialty opens the door to a very different kind of underwater adventure. Learn to dive wrecks with respect, awareness, and control—and discover the stories waiting beneath the Red Sea.
