Discover Scuba Diving
Try scuba diving in the Red Sea without committing to a course. PADI Discover Scuba Diving
Service Description
Try scuba diving in the Red Sea — no course, no commitment, no experience needed. Discover Scuba Diving is a supervised introduction to scuba — a half-day experience that takes you from complete beginner to breathing underwater on a real reef, all under the direct supervision of a PADI professional. No classroom, no certification exam, no pressure to continue. Just you, the Red Sea, and your first breath underwater. It's the most popular way to try diving in Sharm El Sheikh, and for many people it's the experience that changes everything. What the Experience Involves The session runs in two parts: a short briefing on land, followed by the dive itself. The briefing Before you enter the water, your PADI instructor will walk you through the basics — how to breathe through a regulator, how to equalise pressure in your ears, and a few simple hand signals. This takes around 20–30 minutes and requires no prior knowledge. You don't need to memorise anything; the instructor will be with you throughout. The dive You'll enter the water with your instructor and descend to a maximum of 12 metres. On the reef, you'll see coral, reef fish, and the kind of underwater landscape that most people only see in photographs. The instructor controls the dive — you just focus on the experience. The whole session runs approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from arrival to finish. What's Included Full equipment — mask, fins, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tank Pre-dive briefing with your PADI instructor One supervised dive to a maximum of 12 metres Boat or shore entry depending on conditions Towel and refreshments after the dive No prior experience is required. You don't need to be a strong swimmer. If you have any medical conditions, let us know when you book — there's a short health questionnaire to complete beforehand, which is standard for all PADI programmes. What Happens After Discover Scuba Diving is a standalone experience — you don't need to continue to a certification course. But if you enjoy it (and most people do), the skills and experience from your DSD count toward the PADI Open Water Diver course. You won't be starting from zero. Frequently Asked Questions Is Discover Scuba Diving safe for complete beginners? Yes. The programme is specifically designed for people with no diving experience. Your PADI instructor is with you in the water throughout the entire dive, and the maximum depth is 12 metres. You can signal to surface at any point
